Today Chicago got a little whiff of spring. On my day off I was lucky enough to take a long stroll in 55-degree weather. Pretty amazing. And I decided to pick up a few new wardrobe pieces along the way since my new job is business casual dress. At Mindshare I pretty much wore jeans every day, so it will be a fun (but not cheap) change.
Besides a three-hour walking / shopping spree, I also was able to kick back on my couch and watch three hours of Law & Order: SVU season 3 on netflix. Yes, I'm lazy and not ashamed of it. This is one of my goals ... to have seen every single SVU episode by the end of 2011. It's actually pretty easy - I've been watching every re-run and new episode since college, and as I go through the episode list on netflix I often find myself fast-forwarding to the next one since I've already seen it.
To end the night I attended my last vendor outing - an awesome "after the holidays holiday party" hosted by everyday health. Their shindig was at the Wit - an absolutely amazing rooftop lounge/bar downtown.
Good food, good music, good people. Breathtaking scenery from the rooftop patio. This place was on my Chicago bucket list, so I finally have something checked off.
If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I might trek around Chicago taking photos with my new camera. If it does rain ... you can pretty much count on me glued to my couch. Stay tuned!
